In this third-person puzzle-platforming game, use adorable animal spirits to explore the beautiful Hollow Woods. Possess and control the world around as you search for the soul shards to cleanse the corrupted Tree and restore balance to your home.
Control the world around you with Ling and her spirits as she is tasked with bringing balance to the corrupted Hollow Woods. Using various objects to search for powerful artifacts called soul shards, scattered across four levels, explore the realms to unlock the hidden story behind what happened to Ling's home and save the Hollow Woods.
Ling and the Corrupted Hollow features a possession system that enables you to possess a variety of objects across the game, bestowing abilities to manipulate movement, run and jump across different platforms, and not lose your soul to the corrupted waters that plague the hollow woods. Each level is unique that explores the relationship Ling has with her home and how the spirits connect to The Hollow Woods.
With the realm in danger and your spirit friends by your side, there is nothing in your way from saving the Hollow Woods.
Created in 15 weeks by a team of 26 graduate students as part of SMU Guildhall's Team Game Production curriculum, Ling and the Corrupted Hollow was built with the determination to craft a world that tells a story of perseverance and trust in one's friends, values shared across all disciplines of the team and guided by our stakeholders.
Game Features
Explore the beautiful three different realms to discover the hidden story of the Hollow Woods: Each Level is set across three themes. Zig-zag across hostile flowers and mystical, overgrown vegetation in the Infested Garden; face clashing tides of old settlements in the Corrupted Waters; and climb your way to the source of the corruption, knocking over boulders to build your own path, in the Primordial Shrine.
Use your spirits to control the world around with possession: Use spirits of the world to possess a variety of objects across the Hollow Woods and manipulate the movement, while also allowing you to run and jump across different platforms and not lose your soul to the corrupted waters that plague the hollow woods.
Platform and solve puzzles across the dangerous corruption that plagues the Hollow Woods: Use Ling’s agility with a variety of movement abilities to navigate across the corruption that is infested in all the realms and cleanse your home to restore it to the once-natural home you knew.
