The Lindsay Clancy trial testimony ended abruptly Monday when a witness began speaking about Catholic religion and the defense called for a mistrial. Judge William Sullivan denied the motion, saying a mistrial was not warranted, but reprimanded prosecutors and instructed jurors to disregard the remarks, calling them "immaterial" and "irrelevant." Jurors were then excused for the day.
Clancy, 36, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of first-degree murder of her three children. If she's found not criminally responsible, she will be sent to a state psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts.
