Movie Version vs. Pop Version part 4 of 4
This is the pop version of the song from the 1986 movie, "An American Tail." In the movie, the song was sung by the characters of Fievel and Tanya Mousekewitz while singers Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram performed the pop version played during the end credits. Both singers can do no wrong--Linda Ronstadt happens to be my all-time favorite female music artist--and their version is great, but I wished an electric guitar wasn't used for the song's instrumental break as it somewhat threw the arrangement off--but just a little. "Somewhere Out There" went to #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1987; the single also peaked at #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart. In the UK, the song reached #8 on the UK Pop chart.
