Noone uses LightWave because it's the safe choice.
You've spent years building a pipeline nobody else uses, on software the industry keeps writing off, and getting results that seems almost magical. You do it your way. That's the whole point.
So here's a tool built the same way.
MechaPaint reads LightWave object files directly. You don't need to export anything or create some new pipeline, and pray the UVs survive.
MechaPaint reads .lwo files themselves. It knows what the Content Directory structure is, and writes textures into Images folder, the way LightWave expects. Hit save in MechaPaint, switch to Layout, and your model already has the latest texture.
In this video I paste a logo onto a spider with a genuinely terrible UV map. Scattered islands, random rotations, the kind of map that turns "just put a logo on it" into an afternoon of EPS exports and Photoshop magic numbers. In MechaPaint it takes seconds. I'm not kidding, seconds. Paste, overlay, remove black, save.
Also covered:
Copy/paste artwork straight in from anything - no special file setup
Reference overlays with rotate and scale
Remove black background in one click
Layer color adjustment (saturation, brightness, contrast)
"Keep saving to this file" - export once, then every project save updates the PNG automatically
Find A Feature search - over 190 features, left-click to run one, right-click to be shown where it lives
Built-in feedback button with screenshot
Windows and Mac. Download it and put it through your worst UV map.

More LightWave-specific tricks coming in the next video. Tell me what you think of it - the interface, the navigation, all of it. I built this for artists like you.
