An early test of the Lightware SF45/B 350 degree sweeping lidar with ArduPilot Copter-4.1.0-dev. This is a test of "Simple Avoidance" which ensures the vehicle stops and/or backs away from obstacles. The Lidar can also be used for BendyRuler and Dijkstra's path planning.
Performance is OK but the copter's movements are too aggressive at times. We can reduce this by "Jerk" limiting the response.
The SF45/B is very small allowing it to be mounted on the Hexsoon EDU450 frame. The autopilot is a Hex CubeOrange.
