i have begun a process which will change a plethora of things over the course of a week and a half
i have to leave it that vague, for personal reasons, and also because very little of it would make enough sense to warrant including here.
they long ago decided not to require me to sign my name in blood anymore, but a red pen was still requested to remain polite.
see, that wouldnt make sense. you're already concerned about me having to sign my name in blood (this is a real thing by the way not something im making up for the song description) and then there's the whole preexisting situation with my blood to begin with. i mean that would be hard to write with i imagine.
but this is to alter things that have been messing with me for a while. from small details about me specifically to fundamental pieces of [i once again want to say "reality" to simplify it in the way i conceptualize it. it's more complicated than that and would make more sense if an expert (not me) explained it]
saying "alter" here is also important. nothing is getting much better or worse, just changing. there is a small chance i come out of this with the ability to enjoy raw tomatoes without immediately puking, for an example of how strangely mundane some of these changes are. but some changes are much bigger and harder to come up with examples for because i dont know how that works even a little bit.
one might say that
the world will never be the same.
of course, there are reasons i specifically am in a weird contract that allows me to do confusing things like this. that's something i could get into some other time, but for now, just enjoy the sounds of a machine which no longer makes the sounds i have used in this song.
without its hum, the windchimes are so much more audible, though. as much as i miss the constant little bit of background whirring and humming, the ability to hear the wind in the trees and the vibrant tones of the chimes through multiple walls that dampen the sound is preferred.
as well as, on some nights, the silence. the pure, pure, silence. it is the first time i have heard my head clear in a while, and when the wind picks up again, it is a welcome addition.
well, i think this has gone on long enough. if you have actually read this entire thing, you have no doubt listened to the song a couple times while doing so.
did you feel the time passing through it faster, to be lost and return just now? did you feel, even if only for a moment, lighter than the air?
