After waiting all morning for a Schindler engineer, it gave me the opportunity to make this little video.
Schindler's PORT technology. I think I prefer other manufacturer's names like Destination Dispatch! Anyway, I know this is slightly off my usual criteria (it does satisfy "something out of the ordinary" though) but quite interesting watching the lifts on the software.
I've seen all kinds of software and hardware panels that show what the lifts are doing from security control rooms. I'm not sure that this is my favourite though.
By the way, I had to hold my camera still for long periods to film this!! Steady hand required.
There was an old Mitsubishi hardware light bulb lift status panel in Leon House/Croydon. Not sure if it's still there or not? Now that WAS interesting! It was a long time ago though!
