Today’s Verse: John 15:16 (NKJV)
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”
Jesus cuts straight through our pride and insecurity with this one sentence: you did not choose Him first; He chose you. If you find your heart longing for God, it is because He has awakened you to who He is. He not only chose you, but He also appointed you for a purpose: that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain.
So today, thank the Lord that He chose you, and ask Him to make your life truly fruitful for His glory. Bring Him your pain, your health needs, your broken or strained relationships, your children and grandchildren. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit, to make your prayers match His heart, and to cause real, lasting fruit to grow in your life, your home, and your church as you trust the One who chose you and will not let you go.
