Here are some segments taken from one of my vintage video compilations, comprising several different recordings of the Lifetime cable channel, originally taped in 1985 and 1986.
First, a promo for the original shows Hot Properties (with Richard Belzer), Regis Philbin's Lifestyles, and Good Sex (with Dr. Ruth Westheimer). I believe this was recorded in September 1985. All the following clips, however, were taken from another VHS tape that was recorded in either late January or early February of 1986.
This part begins with promo for Cover Up, the series with Jon-Erik Hexum and Jennifer O'Neill. A crawl touting limited commercial interruption is next, before the MovieBreak open and beginning of the movie "Night Song." A bump preceded a Lifetime Minute (with Sandie Newton), offering cosmetic tips on highlighting and shading. Another bump, and then there's a Good Housekeeper segment (with Schoolhouse Rock-style animation) with tips for grilling.
Next, a bump from another movie, "Every Girl Should Be Married," then another Good Housekeeper piece, this one explaining the best way to wash walls. Promos for "She Couldn't Say No" and "The Winslow Boy" follow, and one for the TV show From Here to Eternity that plays up Don Johnson's stardom from the then-current hit Miami Vice. A promo for Family comes just before a segment called Lifetips for a Lifetime, with this installment discussing "Cancer and Children." Joseph Benti hosts a visit with young survivor Stan Miller, but unfortunately the tape ran out before the end.
