UC Davis is the #1 university in the nation for agriculture sciences... but what do those innovations look like in practice? 🌾

🍅 Since the infamous tomato hybrid and mechanical harvester were created in the 1950s at UC Davis, scientists have changed the way they think about agricultural science breakthroughs.

🍅 Plant breeder Jack Hanna and engineer Coby Lorenzen had a unique approach: develop the physical properties of the tomato alongside the machine.

🍅 We need federal funding to develop new technologies like this one that put food on millions of tables across the nation and beyond.

🍅 Stay tuned for more episodes exploring various areas of research and in the meantime learn more at ucdavis.edu/labs-to-lives 🔗 (Link in our profile)
