The country is made up of a chain of almost 1200 coral islands grouped into atolls. These magnificent islands have snow-white sandy, endless beaches. It's the largest "coral island" country in the world with an area of 120 sq mi and a length of 466 miles that was home to over 540 thousand tourists on 200 inhabited islands in 2021.
