Hello everyone and welcome to the official release of the "Life Is Strange: Remastered Cutscenes" Mod! This is the first full fledged mod of Life Is Strange: Remastered, and it aims to take all the original pre-rendered cutscenes of the game and upscale them to 4k60fps.
The original release of the game was plagued with low quality, pre-rendered cutscenes that are drastically different from the in game quality. While the actual game has high quality footage that can go up to 4k and 60fps+, the pre-rendered cutscenes are locked at 1080p 30fps. The only problem is that they don't *look* 1080p, they look like they are in 240p.
That's where my mod comes into play, upscaling all the footage to match the quality of the in game footage.
This mod does multiple things to improve the quality, including the following:
1) Upscaling the footage to 4k.
2) Upscaling with a denoise, smoothing & detail enhancing algorithm to remove video noise, smooth out the artifacts that pop up and improve the detail of characters/textures.
3) Used frame interpolation to increase the framerate to 60fps so it matches the smoothness of the in game footage (if you play at 120fos, the framerate will drop to 60, but that's not as severe of a drop as going from 60fps to 30fos. It will still look smooth, and not anywhere near as choppy).
