I was going to be recording this song this past Monday anyways but when I heard the news of John Marlatts passing I almost couldn't bring myself to record it as it was just too much. Eventually I told myself to record it anyway and pulled myself together enough to record it.
This song was recorded on July 24, 2023 and is being dedicated to John Marlatt the owner of The Moonshine cafe in Oakville, ON, Canada. John passed away today Monday, July 24, 2023. This place is a very magical place. It is where I got my start as well as many other musicians. He built an amazing community allowing all artists alike to come together and support one another. It feels like home and he made everyone feel at home. RIP John. You will truly be missed and were loved by all who stepped foot in this magical place you created. I have no words, still in shock and numb. Lots of tears. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us. This place will always be remembered and we hope it lives on.
