Sometimes, life demands that we step away from our perfect plans and simply slow down to be present for the moments that matter most.
I originally set out to share a beautiful, sunny afternoon garden party with you all, featuring three elaborate recipes. But with a sudden drop in the weather and - much more importantly - my sweet dog of 14 years possibly entering her final days, my focus completely shifted. Traditional homemaking isn't about forcing a perfect picture; it’s about learning to adjust, finding peace in simple rhythms, and prioritizing the ones we love.
Today, we are skipping the complex recipes and the outdoor gathering. Instead, I’m leaning into the quiet comfort of the kitchen to bake a simple, rustic Rhubarb Crumb Cake and finish a batch of smooth homemade Hazelnut Ice Cream.
