It has been 2 years since I quit social media as a gen z(other than YouTube) and while it provided me with a numerous amount of benefits, I have actually decided to get back on Social Media.
Two years ago, I made the choice to delete my social media accounts due to social media addiction and the desire to regain control over my time and mental well-being. It felt like I had a phone addiction as I was so dependent upon it and felt like I was going to miss out on something if I was not near it. I'll share the highs and lows of my digital detox, how it transformed my life, and the valuable lessons I learned during this hiatus.
I also discuss why I decided to rejoin the social media world and the surprising benefits I've discovered since my return. Social media can be a powerful tool for personal growth, connecting with like-minded individuals, and even pursuing your passions. We also have to be honest, society is changing and changing quickly in 2023. Ai is only getting more advanced and with those algorithms that suck us in only get more desirable. However, I think there are still ways we can stop our social media addiction in 2023 if we change our framework around it.
If you've ever contemplated deleting social media, considered a social media detox, or just want to hear about my experience, because I have certainly had an experience in these past 2 years since I quit social media. Be sure to hit that like button and subscribe for more content on social media and digital well-being.
