Liechtenstein is the sixth smallest country in the world (roughly the size of Washington, D.C.). It has a historic castle, bustling downtown, vineyard, and some of the most memorable hiking in the Alps. Vaduz is the nation’s capital and where you will most likely start your Liechtenstein adventure. It’s the starting point for the Via Alpina (alpenwild.com/trip/via-alpina/overview/) and where you can get your passport stamped (at the Tourism Office). For the best hiking, you’ll head to the charming resort town of Malbun. Don’t forget to try the national dish of Käsknöpfle!
