LG Magic Remote 2026 release date revealed! The MR26GA arrives from mid-to-late August 2026 through the official LG online store, working with LG's 2026 TV range and older 2024 and 2025 models.
This news has just been shared directly with me from an LG spokesperson and in this video I share the release date and how to buy the LG Magic Remote 2026.
The MR26GA will be sold through the official LG online store from mid-to-late August 2026, with Australian pricing expected to land around $74.95 dollars, though LG has not confirmed that figure. If you own a recent LG TV and want the original replacement rather than a third-party copy, this is the model to look for.
The MR26GA is a radio frequency remote rather than an infrared one, so it pairs over Bluetooth and controls the TV within roughly ten metres without pointing straight at the screen. On board you get the motion pointer, a scroll wheel for fast menu movement, and built-in voice recognition through the microphone. It also runs as a universal remote, so a single controller handles the connected gear around your set.
LG has stripped the button count right back, which means many keys now do two jobs, one on a short press and another on a hold. Power sits up top, the Scroll Wheel doubles as the OK button, and Settings opens quick options on a press or the full menu on a hold. Home Hub shows connected devices and jumps to input sources when held, TV Guide opens the on-screen channel guide, and holding Recommended Content fires up voice search.
There is no separate mute key, so holding volume down silences the sound, which is worth knowing if you are troubleshooting a remote that seems to be missing a button. A new heart button is customisable and can be programmed as you see fit.
