To commemorate the launch of "Street Fighter IV HD" on the Nitro HD, electronics giant LG launched their very own global championship, dubbed the "LG Cup". The first stop was Los Angeles for the USA Qualifier on Saturday, January 14, 2012, with the 1st Place contestant being flown out to South Korea to compete for the inaugural world title and over $21,000 in cash prizes.

The event was a collaboration of many fabulous collectives, with LG & Capcom co-hosted, organized by Ryan Entertainment, sponsored by MadCatz & Twitch TV, tournament direction/live stream by Level|Up and MC'ing by Cross Counter.

And, yup - iam8bit produced the event, as well as this nifty video which recaps the day's happenings in an easy to digest one-and-a-half minutes.
