I proceeded to design a PCB based on the previous schematic.
This is my very first PCB, and I was confident enough to actually order it from jlcpcb and it works perfectly! Woo!

Three alterations compared to the previous design have been made:
1. Replaced the ATmega88 DIP version with an SMD version (TQFP package) to drastically reduce the footprint of the entire board. I considered doing the same with the LMC662, but I had like 10 more of these lying around unused, and I figured soldering 8 pins is litte to no work anyways.
2. Rebuilt the R-2R part with regular resistors. The reason here is that sourcing that part is in no way worth the expense compored to just placing individual resistors onto the board. Each resistor costs less than a cent and since it's all SMD components not only do they take very little space away, I also have no extra work here because I'm getting it assembled anyways.
3. Added a reset circuit so that restarting the demo can be done with the simple press of a button instead of replugging power.
