Our new Lexus compact crossover concept vehicle, the UX Concept, makes its world debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The concept was designed by ED2, Lexus' European design centre and showcases our vision for a compact SUV of the future.
The UX Concept is a powerful reinterpretation of signature Lexus designs, reflecting our determination to give each Lexus model a unique character with a strong concept behind it.
The UX introduces the powerful ‘inside out’ design concept and deconstructed interior styling, as a strong synergy is created between the vehicle's exterior and interior design.
This futuristic ‘inside out’ concept is most strongly presented from above, by the X-shaped movement in the architecture, from the cabin outwards. Around the front of the vehicle, you’ll notice e-mirror screens showing the images from door-mounted and rear facing cameras.
To further accentuate the ‘inside out’ design, the aerodynamic wheel arches, roof bar and door cameras are all finished in the same material, giving the feeling of a continuous bone structure. The Lexus spindle grille also marks a vital step forward, as its size and volume make it a three-dimensional beginning point for the body of the car.
This bold, imaginative and sensual design embodies forward-thinking technologies to provide occupants with a fully immersive experience whilst driving.
