Elden ring shadow of the erdtree dlc theory. exactly how I think we are going to level up and a small breakdown of the new story trailer! first I clarify that it is most likely Merica we see pulling the golden hair out of the godskin looking corpse. and then holding it up at the beginning of everything right before we hear a faint Roar which may be the Elden beast itself. my theory is she was split in two at the beginning of everything leaving her dark alter ego behind when she enters the lands between. who could be the gloam eyed queen. and it may be that darkness of her other half who is ordering Messmer to hunt down and destroy any remaining light that Merica may have left behind. the dragon Puppet warriors try to fight back but fail. this causes Miquella to give up his golden flesh and his blinding strength and his small group of followers including the new npc we get a sneak peek of. but what does Miquella do with his blinding strength after he gives it up? I think he is going to give it to us in a series of runes scattered throughout the land of shadow . in one of Miyazakis interviews he stated that he knew most people would already be overleveled and wanted to create a leveling system that would still give us that feeling of a challenge and accomplishment. so like one of his past games Sekiro shadows die twice, he is going to introduce a similar system exclusively the dlc. I think that we are going to have to seek out these runes that Miquella has left behind and they will be our way of leveling up. the dlc should be as difficult or even more than the end of the base game of elden ring. like Farum Azula. these runes will probably be scattered behind bosses and other challenging area's for us to find. so in order to make one boss fight easier we are going to have to beat a smaller boss to find one of Miquellas runes to increase our strength and vigor. but then again this is just a theory and we really won't know until release day of the dlc.
