When talking textiles, most people ask "what's the best fabric?"

Well, that's the wrong question.

You see, there's no best fabric. There's only the right fabric for the right job — and once you get that, every bag decision gets 10x easier.

Think of it like hiring for a role. You wouldn't hire a marathon runner to move your furniture.
You wouldn't hire a bodybuilder to run a 5K.

Same logic applies to your pack.

Every fabric has a personality — things it's brilliant at, and things it really struggles with.

So before you obsess over thread counts and denier ratings, answer this one question first:

What is this bag's job?

Are you an ultralight hiker shaving every gram like it owes you money? A daily commuter whose bag goes from desk to gym to floor to meeting and back again? A traveller who needs cobblestone-proof and carry-on-ready? A style-first person who refuses to sacrifice looks for function?

Because the fabric that's perfect for one of those people is completely wrong for another.

In Episode Two, we're going to learn to read fabric — how to understand what all those numbers and names actually mean, explained in plain English. No degree required.
