Hey guys, SnapJelly here with some info about a small thing that you see on a lot of historical spears; the butt spike.

The butt spike is something you see on all kinds of speard throughout history, you see them on pikes and spears used by the Greek hoplites like the sarissa and dory but also on the Roman pilum and polearms and pole axes. BUTT what are they for?
