following their mother's passing, the player character sets off on multiple trips around the country to collect and purchase necessities and novelties to sell at what used to be their mother's store, now operated by them and their childhood friend. along the way, they'll run into various people living in, operating out of, and visiting other towns and notable locations, all of whom they can choose to stop and talk with. aside from being the driving force of the game's deck building and conversation mechanics, talking with others is also how the player finds and gathers items to sell at their store.
