Mega May presses onto the final game of the NES hexalogy - Mega Man 6 (or Rockman 6: The Greatest Battle of All Time!!). Released late into the console's life (on November 1993 (JP) / March 1994 (NA)), this concludes the second Classic "trilogy" as well as the franchise's tenure on the platform.
In the year 20XX AD, the First Annual Robot Tournament was being held, with eight of the world's most powerful robots advancing to center stage.
However, Mr. X, the enigmatic leader of the X Foundation and tournament sponsor, took control of the robots, and announced his intention to conquer the world using them. Not only that, he was apparently manipulating Dr. Wily from the very beginning. No longer needing him, he dares Mega Man to face his power and save the world.
Alas, thus begins Mega Man's sixth main adventure.
A return to form for the series IMO. It's a more direct and competent iteration on the basic formula established by 4, while still daring to experiment in a few ways (such as with the Rush Adapters). And (most of) the special weapons are back to being relatively decent to good. Although the narrative is dumber than before. At least with 4 and 5, the true antagonist TRIED to hide behind the scenes. Not use a paper-thin disguise.
While being somewhat harder than 5, I also recommend it for newer players.
For this part, I defeat all eight of the tournament masters.
