Sometimes, you can't harness the soul of a defeated enemy to later use them as a transformation immediately after defeating them, sometimes, you've gotta take some extra steps. Like delivering the remnants they leave behind after a boss battle, you bring said remnants to a dragon you barely know, in order to raise them into your service, so you may later summon them to vanquish any future enemies.
