In this week's #fridaysews vlog, I'm so excited to be opening my sweatshirt fabric haul from Myfabrics.co.uk with you. My parcel arrived a little earlier than expected, so you know what I'll be working on over Christmas! I've bought a couple of different pieces so I can made a few garments. How excited am I!
I had ordered an vibrant orange sweatshirt fabric together with a floral vine sweatshirt and a pink blush sprinkle brush-backed sweatshirt fabric. I'm really happy with the quality of them. I knew I would be because I've previously ordered a swatch of their sweatshirt fabric and it was just what I wanted.
Fabric Weight and Composition. I love learning about composition of fabrics!
Orange brush-back sweatshirt - Weight 285gsm, 65% Cotton, 35% Polyester (firmer sweatshirt)
Watercolour Floral Vines - Weight 240gsm, 95% Cotton, 5% Polyester (slighter less firmer than the Orange)
Pink Sprinkles - Weight 240gsm, 90% Cotton, 5% Polyester, 5% Spandex (very sptretchy, but the same feel as the Floral Vines one.
I love the shirt I'm wearing. I've made McCall's M7360 three times now and its fit is near perfect. This is such a nice pattern. I love the mandarin collar effect. I will definitely be making more of these in 2024.
