โซ Thirsty Thursday and the drinkin' is easy...โซ Wouldn't be summer without one of my childhood favs!
โนIngredientsโน
8 oz frozen cherries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
lime juice to taste
lemon-lime sparkling water
cherry lime sparkling water
โนInstructionsโน
To make the cherry syrup, add 8 oz (aka 1 cup) of frozen cherries to a small pot with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water.
Stir, place on the stove, and heat it up on medium until it bubbles and the sugar starts to dissolve. Stir periodically just to ensure sugar doesn't get stuck to the bottom of the pot.
After about 5 minutes or however long it takes to start bubbling, lower the temp to a simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
While it's simmering, squish the cherries in the pot so the syrup has maximum cherry juice flavor.
Allow to cool completely.
You can strain the cherries out of the syrup of leave them in. Refrigerate either way.
To make the cherry limeade, add syrup to a cup of ice, to taste.
Squeeze in some lime juice and top off with sparkling water. I use two flavors!
