In this video we will be visiting the Michigan Central Station also known as Michigan Central Depot. This station opened on January 4, 1914 and it was built for the Michigan Central Railroad. Baltimore & Ohio Railroad along with the New York Central used it for passenger service. Amtrak used this station until it was closed on January 6, 1988.The station was closed and left vacant, where it fell in into major decay. In May of 2018 Ford Motor Company purchased the building for redevelopment into their new engineering center for an Autonomous Vehicle Technology. These are self driving cars and trucks. The station will also have stores and restaurants and be an Amtrak Station for Detroit, Michigan. • All aboard for a rail-fanning adventure with Train Room Gary.

▶︎ Bill Ford, great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford used to drive by Michigan Central Station and he did not like how the building was falling into decay. He purchased the structure to help The Motor City on its city wide reconstruction.
