It's time for another Live for 45, where creativity takes centre stage!
This week we're beginning an exciting brand-new adventure as we design our very own amigurumi Platypus from the ground up—but before we pick up a hook, we'll get to know one of Australia's most wonderfully weird animals.
We'll chat about the platypus' fascinating features, including:
🦆 Why it's one of the world's only egg-laying mammals
🦆 Its incredible duck bill and beaver-like tail
🦆 The venomous spurs on the males
🦆 Its waterproof fur and amazing underwater hunting abilities
🦆 And plenty more fun platypus facts!
Then it's over to you!
Together we'll decide exactly what sort of platypus we're going to create:
🧶 A realistic, true-to-life platypus?
🧸 A soft, cuddly, huggable friend?
😆 A delightfully weird or hilariously cursed creation?
🎨 Or perhaps something completely unexpected!
During the stream we'll:
✨ Brainstorm ideas together
✨ Choose colours, yarns and hook sizes
✨ Discuss the best materials for the project
✨ Sketch out our design
✨ Plan construction and shaping
✨ And if time allows... we'll even crochet the very first stitches!
This is your chance to help shape an original pattern from the very beginning. Whether you're an experienced amigurumi maker or you've never designed anything before, come along and be part of the creative process.
Grab your favourite yarn, a notebook, and a cuppa—we're going platypus hunting!
