When a crisis unfolds, actors across the travel sector are confronted with immediate disruption, uncertainty for travellers, operational breakdowns, reputational risks and the need to act under pressure and incomplete information. This session starts from a concrete crisis situation and explores how the travel sector responds, from communication and coordination to risk assessment and responsibility towards travellers and destinations. As the discussion evolves, the focus gradually widens to broader governance questions and examines how governance frameworks, data and cross sector collaboration can support the transition from short term response to long term resilience, particularly in the context of climate change.
