A whistleblower from inside New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office is raising explosive allegations about how the office pursued President Trump and people connected to him.
Grant Stinchfield reports that Assistant Attorney General Daniel Wiesenfeld sent an email to approximately 2,000 colleagues accusing James of directing her office to pursue crimes involving individuals and organizations associated with Trump—including Trump Media and Truth Social.
The most damaging line comes from Wiesenfeld himself:
“If you believe Trump is using the Department of Justice attorneys to prosecute his enemies and further his political interests, you should find it equally troubling that Tish James is doing exactly the same thing.”
Former Trump attorney and Claremont Institute senior fellow John Eastman joins Stinchfield and argues that while James’ campaign rhetoric had long made her intentions clear, an allegation from someone inside the office—and potential supporting documents—could dramatically change the equation.
Eastman says investigators should interview the whistleblower, identify others referenced in the email and determine whether there is evidence supporting criminal charges. He invokes former Attorney General Robert Jackson’s famous warning against prosecutors choosing a person they dislike and then searching for a crime.
Eastman’s bottom line: “We knew it, but now we’ve got the receipt for it.”
