The Atlanta area received the heaviest snowfall it's seen in years. The snow began the evening of January 9, 2011 as "thundersnow" was reported on FOX 5 ATLANTA. As night turned to morning, sleet and freezing rain mixed with snow, leaving a Winter wonderland on the morning of the 10th. With the layer of frozen precipitation on top, the snow was a wet, heavy type of snow with a crusty layer on top. Here you see Mulligan the dog exploring the snowy world.
