Thornton Construction began repairing our Leonard's Mills Dam today. The wooden spillway and bridge are failing and will be replaced with a concrete structure. Crews diverted stream flow to the mill pond and fishway. They built a temporary wooden deck over the fishway to bring in equipment. They removed the failing bridge and blocked off the area. They cleared access to bring in larger equipment to the spillway. The leaves are spectacular this week.
