Auto Glass Academy: Instructable - Special Edition
Jason Horne & Gilbert Gutierrez had the opportunity recently to remove and replace the dual 225 lbs. windshields on a Lenco® Bear® Tactical S.W.A.T. or Military Counter Attack and Rescue Vehicle, often used in hostile Urban Environments or as a Patrol/Reaction Vehicle. You may have had the unique opportunity to work on a vehicle like this, but we wanted to give you our input and take you through how you can approach doing a job like this safely and effectively as possible.
We used both an air-powered Equalizer® Excalibur® and an 18-volt Equalizer® Freedom™ power tool to remove the urethane on this beast and while not an overly difficult job, there is a lot of time required because of the amount of urethane holding these ballistic pieces of glass in place.
