Lemon Poppy Seed Bread RECIPE
1 3/4 C Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
3/4 C Butter, melted
1 C Sugar
3 Eggs
Juice & Zest of 1 Lemon
1/4 C Sour Cream
2 Tbsp. Poppy Seeds
3/4 C Milk
1 C Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1-2 Tbsp. Milk or Lemon Juice
Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease your loaf pan and set aside.
Combine butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix. Add lemon juice, zest, and sour cream. Mix thoroughly. Add poppy seeds, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix it until it is just starting to come together and then add in milk. Combine and pour into loaf pan.
Bake for 45-60 minutes or until it is set in the middle.
Make the icing by combining the ingredients and pour over cooled bread. Let glaze set and then slice.
