FAQ Answers from Holger regarding the BR80:
To answer some questions I receive about this model:
Wheels are slippery ... Yes, the powered wheels have no rubber rings, so the pulling power is not super high. Big Ben Bricks offers now wheels with o-rings which might work better (I have not tried it yet myself).
Wheels do not spin properly ... Make sure that the connection rods are attached with the 90 ° offset and the piston can move in and out of the cylinders smoothly.
The plate underneath the motor seems to be a bit loose ... Yes, correct, it doesn't fit a 100%, but this is a MOC and not an official LEGO set, but works fine.
Where can I get red 1x10 Technic plates for the side rods? Hmm, nowhere, either you have the chance to visit the model builder's workshop in a Legoland park. I had this luck years ago in Windsor. But there are custom 3d printed parts available in red by trainedbricks.com, an US Bricklink shop. Yes I know, it's a nightmare with shipping costs, taxes and additional fees.
