This is the Colorado River Rapids water slide at Mountain Creek Waterpark in Vernon Township, New Jersey, United States. The ride opened in 1979 at the infamous Action Park and has been one of the park's most popular attractions ever since. When the slide was opened, this was probably the longest water slide in the world. Despite its popularity, the ride has received a lot of modifications, most of which were made for safety reasons. Halfway down the slide, the slide used to separate into two different paths, however, only one of them is operational today. At some point, the ride even required helmets to prevent injuries, however, the limited number of guests per raft allows the park to operate the ride without helmets. Colorado River Rapids is by far the craziest and most intense round-raft ride we have ever tried. It is great to see a legendary ride like this still being in operation today!
