Played on an original PAL N64 cartridge, classic route, no glitches or clipping, just ran like the wind, this is a re-run of my previous upload as I beat sub-20 in not perfect but random style, tried to use every tricky camera angle still to an advantage, this upload is 7th one I've played today, lots were epic fails near the start, the hardest part of the route I think is the first 8 minutes, once that's cleared it's actually pretty straightforward, or down! All my re-starts were within the first 8 minutes of the run.
I now know sub-19 is possible... hit the 2-cycle with Volvagia and shave another 20 seconds off somewhere.
Zelda Temples are awesome and they're even better when you run through it like mad trying for a time! The Fire Temple may be tall and have 5 floors but with the fighting spirit of the Gorons, the Goron Tunic (heat, burn, acid, spike, goo resistant) and the Biggoron Sword, items from Death Mountain used to beat this awesome temple within the mountain!
I would like to know of any hardcore runners who would give this route a try, no clipping or glitches just a pure classic route see who's strategy have the quickest time ;)
If I hit the 2-cycle with Volvagia I think my time would have been around 19.20 so maybe a sub-19 attempt is on the cards! My best glitchless uploaded Temple times as of writing this 15/12/14 are -
1. Spirit Temple - 27.57 sub-27 can be beat but even for elite player may prove hard
2. Water Temple - 26.11 sub-26 can be beat easily, I just haven't recorded it yet.
3. Forest Temple - 21.57 sub-21 is borderline breaking the temple, I don't think I'll manage that anytime soon!
4. Fire Temple - 19.58 sub-20 is finally accomplished :)
5. Shadow Temple 16.53 - already under 17 minutes, now aiming for under 16.30
Anyone else who likes thrashing round the awesome Zelda Temples should post their runs :)
As always I will now try and beat their times! I suppose it can be good to look back on, for me I guess eh. :) Happy slashing Zelda/Link/Navi/N64 fans !!
