It should take around one hour to collect all the pelts needed for the legend of the east satchel. having the satchel makes the game easier and hunting in RDR2 is fun.
You will need
7 perfect deer use rifle or bow locations all over the map
1 buck use rifle or bow, locations all over the map
2 perfect elk use a rifle or improved arrows I use the locations around Hanging Dog ranch
1 perfect badger use varmint rifle, Bolger Glade, multiple spawn points
1 perfect bison rifle or improved arrows, New Hanover, close to Guthrie Farm
1 perfect beaver use varmint rifle, at Owanjila lake
1 perfect cougar bow or rifle aim for the head, near the trapper at Owanjila , Black Forrest
1 perfect squirrel use small game arrow any wooded area.
1 perfect panther bow or rifle, in the woods near Catfish Jackson
1 perfect raccoon use varmint rifle, near the trapper at Owanjila
1 perfect iguana use varmint rifle, Big island opposite to Clemens Cove camp
1 perfect rabbit use varmint rifle, locations all over the map
1 perfect wolf rifle or bow, I use the location around Hanging Dog ranch
