"The Mist claimed another soul..."
This video begins with the tragic return of Juno to Rim Elm. I chose to open with the full-screen cutscene of Mei and Vahn facing this loss to set the stage for one of the most haunting pieces in the Legend of Legaia OST: Night Requiem.
In this 2026 Redo, I moved away from my old hardware-only recording and rebuilt the song from the ground up to be as faithful to Michiru Oshima’s original vision as possible.
Technical Highlights:
Cinematic Intro: Scaled gameplay footage provides the emotional context before transitioning into the performance.
Instrumentation: Used the Yamaha Montage M ESP for the delicate Harp, the atmospheric Organ/Pad layers, and the lead Flute.
Production: Fully tempo-mapped in REAPER to match the original game’s timing, including the original percussion ripped directly from the game audio.
Visuals: 4-way split screen showcasing the multi-track layers of the "one-man orchestra" arrangement.

Caption: A tribute to the beginning of the journey in Rim Elm... 🕯️
I started this video with the full cutscene where Mei’s father, Juno, is brought home. Even without voice acting, that moment where Mei is crying over her father is one of the most powerful scenes in the game. I wanted the music to feel like an extension of that grief.
For this "2026 Redo," I used the Yamaha Montage M ESP to get those high-fidelity sounds that weren't possible on my old setup. I even mapped the tempo to the original track and used the game's actual percussion to keep it authentic.
Watch the full 4-screen split to see how the Harp, Organ, and Flute layers come together.
