It is interesting how the spirals are connected to each other in this build, at each crossing a left rotating spiral shares a unit with a right rotating spiral. In each spiral there is a repetition of 4 units. When replacing the spirals by tunnels, you get Schoen's I-WP surface, see: http://www.susqu.edu/brakke/evolver/examples/periodic/periodic.html#iwp
