Left Hand Technique Guide For Bass Guitar (Beginning and Advanced!)

This lesson will show you everything you need to know (in my estimation) to have great left hand technique when playing bass guitar. From the basics of where to put your fingers to subtleties regarding finger angle, you should come away from this video feeling confident on what to practice and how to practice it!

Make sure you check out my Finger Twisters for Bass video to continue developing your left hand technique: youtube.com/watch?v=pU3MozMrA9k

The takeaways from this lesson:
- Aim for right behind the fret wire to avoid buzz
- Use all your fingers, pinky included!
- Keep your fingers close to the neck
- Press down fingers in advance for descending fingering runs
- Aim for close to your fingertips in general, but also allow for a more flat-fingered approach for a more funky/muted/relaxed sound
- Get comfortable stretching one-finger-per-fret, but be flexible and relax your hand when you don't need to do the stretch
