that I leave
quietly
and unseen

when I breathe
none can feel
no one knew
I was real

somewhere stuck inside me
there is someone else
every now and then
that someone cries for help

silence is the loudest sound
when you're alone
don't come looking for me
if I don't come home

when a broken mind
loses track of time
broken records playing
just the same repeated line

do you want to hear
it's the same each year
there's a roadblock on
whichever road I steer

every day is different
but it's somehow still the same
another day of searching
to alleviate the pain

I bottled up my dreams
and I poured it down the drain
all my good intentions
left to wash out in the rain


and you told me
you couldn't help me
if I do it I must do it on my own

and so after
my final chapter
I will let you carve those words out on my stone
