What happens tax-wise if you leave Portugal for a country with lower taxes? Manuela gets this question a lot.

The short answer: it's not a problem. There's no exit tax when you leave Portugal. You just need to do the reverse of what you did when you arrived.

The key is reviewing what you have in place before you go, things like investment bonds, pensions, any products with terms or penalties for early withdrawal.
