If you want to develop an intuitive watercolour style, you should spend lots of time painting without a perceived outcome in mind. Open yourself up to painting from the "adjacent possible," letting each decision inform the one that follows, and not needing to justify the choices you are making, even when they don't seem to be logical. It's playful improvisation that has taught me the most and given me the most freedom as a painter!
