Have you always wanted to learn freestyle slalom skating on inline skates, but you are not sure where to begin? Then this tutorial is the perfect place to start!
In this video, we show you how to learn the freestyle slalom trick known as the “Criss Cross” – step by step and without requiring any previous experience. During the Criss Cross, you cross your feet while skating through the slalom cones. You then open your feet again and perform a “Lemon” movement around the cones. By continuously alternating between the crossing motion and the Lemon, you create the complete Criss Cross.
To help you understand every part of the movement, we demonstrate the trick from several different angles. You will also see it performed at normal speed and in slow motion, allowing you to take a closer look at the foot position, weight transfer, rhythm and movement between the individual cones.
We have also broken the Criss Cross down into ten easy-to-follow steps. This allows you to approach the complete trick gradually, practise each part separately and finally connect all the movements into one smooth sequence.
This tutorial is ideal for beginners who want to get started with freestyle slalom skating. Take your time with every step and begin at a comfortable, controlled speed. Once the movements start to feel natural, you can gradually increase your speed and focus on making your Criss Cross smoother and more consistent.
