In a quiet land, there lived a man named Edric. Edric was an old man with a long white beard and kind eyes. He lived alone in a small wooden house in the forest.
Every morning, Edric wakes up early. He drinks tea from herbs he picked in the forest. He gives ear to the birds sing and watches the deer walk by his window. Edric loved the forest. It was his home, and he took good care of it.
On some day, while he was near the river, Edric heard a strange sound. He followed the strange sound and found a small fox caught in a trap. The fox's foot was wounded, and looked up at Edric with scared eyes.
“Fear not, little one,” Edric said softly.
He gently opened the trap and took the fox in his hands. He brought him to his home, cleaned its wound, and fed him. The fox stayed with Edric for many days. Each day, he grew stronger.
When the fox was healed, then it was time to go.
Edric opened the door and said, “You are free now.”
But the fox did not go away. He sat by Edric and wagged his tail.
From that day, Edric was no longer alone. The fox, who he named Brama, stayed by his side. They walked through the forest together, cared for the animals, and watched the stars at night.
And so, Edric and Brama lived many happy years in the forest — two quiet souls, Oh how they enjoyed the peace of the trees.
