Everyone's been there before. You think you're doing pretty well and then your friend seems to be far ahead...in half the time. It can really set you back and even discourage you from continuing to learn. Maybe you stop all together and develop the mindset that you just don't have the ability to learn another language.
All those thoughts are wrong! Everyone learns at their own speed and in order to truly progress past those plateaus, you have to STOP comparing yourself to others. Learn the way that works best for you, not the way that works best for your friend, your neighbor, or some YouTube video star. Whether that's fast or slow, you'll get there as long as you stick to it.
