Finally the verb 'to be' is introduced in Unit 15. The textbook waits until this point to introduce the fundamental verb because it is athematic and some of its forms are enclitic while others are not. Comfort with athematic verb forms and the discussion about enclitics in the previous video and on pages 437-439, therefore, are helpful to have under your belt when memorizing these forms.
